The Fort Henry Chapter is among the fastest growing chapters in the West Virginia State Society. From 2016 through 2018 we welcomed 40 new members! Since the chapter was chartered in 2014 our membership has tripled! We have 73 chapter members with more applications in the pipeline!

  1. Thought you might be interested in this bit of West Virginia History on West Virginia Day. Through his genealogical research for membership in the Fort Henry SAR, member Daniel Rymer found his patriot, George
    Rymer. Further research found that his great grandfather was the model for the farmer on the Seal of West Virginia. We knew that Joseph H Dis Debar, the designer, lived in Doddridge County but didn’t know that he used Dan’s grandfather as the model until he found the documentation in the Gilmer County archives.
